Aluminium Shutter Buyer’s Guide

Start with how you use the outdoor area

External aluminium shutters can help you adjust privacy, shade and airflow while giving an opening a defined finish. Before choosing a layout, decide whether you want panels to open away, slide, fold or stay fixed.

Compare opening arrangements

Hinged panels swing out and need a clear opening path. Sliding panels are useful to consider across wider openings, but one panel travels in front of another. Bifold panels fold together, so allow for the folded stack. Fixed panels remain in place and suit areas where access is not required.

Think about dining furniture, doors and walking routes. Show Beau how you move through the space, so the proposed layout supports that use.

Balance view and privacy

Look at the blade size, spacing and adjustment options rather than judging from a closed shutter alone. Our range includes a hidden Supatilt mechanism and optional 130 mm elliptical louvres. Discuss the view you want when the blades are open and the privacy you need when they are tilted.

Consider exposure and maintenance

Outdoor positions vary considerably. A sheltered patio and an exposed coastal opening need different consideration. Describe wind, salt exposure and access for cleaning so the fixing arrangement and maintenance requirements can be discussed. Ask for the care instructions for the selected coating and hardware.

Match the finish to the home

Our listed colours include Pearl White, Surf Mist, Anotec Grey, Monument Grey and Black, with custom colours available on request. Compare an actual sample against existing frames and roofing before deciding.

Your quote should identify panel layout, blades, finish, hardware, fixing and installation. Explore aluminium shutters or request a free measure and quote. We service the Central Coast, Sydney’s Upper North Shore, Newcastle and surrounding suburbs.
